Cincinnati Municipal Code 910-23
Cincinnati's Anti-Marijuana Ordinance
Despite the fact that the State of Ohio has decriminalized marijuana laws, last year City Council passed CMC 910-23, which criminalized possession of small amounts of marijuana. Those arrested face large fines and potential jail time.
All this while we face an alleged jail space problem!
Don't believe their rhetoric of fear. They say they enacted this law to get guns off the street, and they boast how the confiscated 62 guns. But that only represents less than 2% who were arrested. The other 98% now face permanent criminal records, which could affect their ability to get college scholarships or their ability to rent housing.
The city's draconian anti-marijuana laws are pushing a disproportionate amount of African Americans into the criminal injustice system, and we need to repeal it!
